I've finally finished the first round of processing on my images from the Arizona trip in September.  I joined a workshop hosted by Alain and Natalie Briot  and had a great time!   To see  two galleries of work from this trip please check out the Arizona  gallery.   Included in the sets are a few images from  a few hours I had  in Zion national park before I arrived at the workshop and  one or two images from the day I drove  from Page, AZ to Las Vegas to catch a flight home.
The workshop was focused largely on the unique slot canyons around the Page,  AZ area, including  the well-known  upper and lower Antelope Canyons as well as  Water Holes Canyon.  We also took the opportunity of being in the area to  shoot some other locations nearby.

You'll also find some updates to my maternity gallery with some work I did this past summer  and stay tuned for other projects I've been working on.

Well, it's been almost a year since I last updated my site.  But not to worry - I've been busy shooting, just not busy posting!  So, the "what's new" list is pretty long today!
I've got lots of shooting planned in the next little while including a trip to Arizona in September for a week of shooting and some more portrait, materity and model shoots over the summer.  I'll try to be more diligent on updating the web site!

I've now posted the print files from my Arctic trip.  The images posted show what the 13"x19" prints will look like but all of the images are also available on 8.5"x11" paper.  Enjoy the images.  If you're interested in a print please check out the "purchase" link at the top of this page.

I posted an updated version of the polar bear video.  The I am the walrus video hasn't changed.  If you don't have a high speed internet connection you may have better luck viewing these by downloading them to your computer first.  If you have ADSL or cable internet you should be able to view them just by clicking on the links or by going to the video page.

I'm back from a fantastic trip in the Arctic!  I was on a 24 passenger ship "MS Origo", starting in Longyearbyen and sailing North around the Northern tip of Svalbard, past 80 degrees N (less than 600 nautical miles from the North Pole).  We encountered polar bears, walruses, reindeer, whales, puffins, seals, foxes and a host of birds who's name I can't remember.  If seeing these photos inspires you to head North, I highly recommend Fathom Expeditions for supurb small boat expeditions.  This is the same company who ran the Antarctic trip I went on in 2004.

Rather than keep everyone waiting for the final "print" images to be ready, I've quickly pulled together a set of "snapshots".  These are different from my print images in that I've spent no more than 60 seconds in editing each one - just some quick and dirty cropping and some very rough adjustments.

If you go to my gallery page you'll see that the Arctic set is split into "Environment" and "People".  The "Environment" images are ones that show what I saw on the trip.  The "People" images are snapshots of the people who were on the trip with me, including the hats that people made for the midsummer party and a couple of group shots.  If you weren't on the trip, the "People" gallery is probably of little interest.

When they're ready, I'll post a set of prints that will be available from this trip.

I've also posted a couple of very short videos.  Click here to find them.

Finally!  Antarctica photos!
Well, I finally got through re-processing some of my photos from my 2004 trip to the Antarctic!  The results are in the gallery.  There are two sets - one black and white set and one color set.  Enjoy!

The week before last I was in Phoenix for work and took a day at the end of the trip to shoot some photos in Sedona.  The weather wasn't great for photos, but at some point I'll have a few interesting shots from that trip as well.

I'm off the Arctic at the end of this week.  For details on the trip check out Fathom Expeditions

Two new galleries!

Pregnant Pause: Last weekend I had the good fortune to be able to do a fun studio shoot with a couple of pregnant women – the results are in this gallery.  For those of you who asked – no, Heather is not one of the people in this shoot.

Random Shots: I have a few photos that don’t quite fit in my other galleries so I’ve started a gallery for these shots.  I’ll add to this gallery over time with other images when I don’t have enough in the same theme to create a separate gallery.

I’ve started work on a gallery of my photos from the Antarctic that I took during my trip in 2004.  No guarantees when it’ll be done as I have a lot of images to sort through, but it is underway.

March 25, 2007

I’ve just posted a new gallery on my website from a recent trip to Rochester.
At the beginning of the month Rochester experienced the coldest March temperatures on record since 1901, and I was there.
So, braving the cold with my camera I took off one morning before sunrise to see what I could capture at the lake.  The morning light was fantastic on the snow and ice, which made for some great photo opportunities.  I hope you enjoy them!

I’ve just updated my web site to include a set of photos that I took during my trip to Israel in December.

I was there for a business trip but I didn’t have meetings one morning so I rented a car, got up before sunrise and headed to the ancient port city of Jaffa.  After a bit of shooting there at the port and up the hillside into the ancient city, I booted up the coast to Caesarea, the site of a Roman aqueduct and countless other ruins dating back to 4000 years ago.  Luckily they had the foresight to use a lot of stone in the construction which seems to have lasted quite well.

All of this was greatly assisted by my expert navigator, Todd, who thankfully had a great sense of humor when trying to read maps that had only coincidental relationships to the street signs.
